Quick answer: TikTok Shop account health in the US is measured by the Account Health Rating (AHR), a 0 to 1,000 score covering the last 180 days that starts at 200 points. Violations and missed fulfillment standards deduct points; falling to 150, 100 or 50 blocks new listings and mega campaigns for 7, 14 or 28 days, and 0 can mean permanent deactivation. You protect it by shipping on time, listing only compliant products, avoiding unsupported claims and appealing wrong decisions within 30 days.

Account health is the part of TikTok Shop most sellers ignore until something goes wrong. Then it becomes the only thing that matters, because a restricted shop cannot list, cannot join campaigns and, at worst, cannot sell.

TikTok rebuilt its scoring system in 2026. This guide explains how the new Account Health Rating works, which violations cost points, the fulfillment thresholds behind most penalties, and how to appeal. It is part of our complete guide on how to start a TikTok Shop.

Account health in 2026: two scores, two jobs

TikTok Shop US uses two separate scores. They are easy to confuse, and they do different things.

Account Health Rating (AHR) Shop Performance Score (SPS)
Scale 0 to 1,000 points 0 to 5
Time window Last 180 days Last 90 days
Measures Policy compliance Product satisfaction, fulfillment and customer service
Can trigger enforcement Yes, at milestone thresholds No, but it affects payout speed and some program eligibility

The Account Health Rating replaced TikTok’s older violation points system. PPC Land reported that TikTok published the AHR requirements on June 25, 2026, with AHR scheduled to fully replace violation points platform wide in July 2026. Under the old system, points reset after 90 days and 48 points triggered deactivation; the new system runs on a longer 180 day window.

How the Account Health Rating works

Starting score and zones

Every seller starts with 200 points. TikTok groups scores into three zones:

Zone Points What it means
Green 200 or more Healthy
Orange 51 to 199 At risk of, or already under, milestone enforcement
Red 50 or fewer At risk of deactivation; the account may be deactivated at 0

Milestone enforcement

TikTok’s guidance is direct: keep your AHR above 150 points to avoid penalties. Crossing each milestone triggers restrictions:

AHR reaches New mega campaign enrollment New listings
150 Blocked for 7 days Blocked for 7 days
100 Blocked for 14 days Blocked for 14 days
50 Blocked for 28 days Blocked for 28 days
0 Account may be permanently deactivated; reactivation is at TikTok’s sole discretion

Passing a milestone quiz can shorten the enforcement period. PPC Land also reported that an AHR above 150 is required for programs such as Smart Promotion and Countdown Bidding, so a dip below 150 costs you more than listings.

How you earn points back

  • Orders: 4 points for every 200 finished orders in the last 180 days, capped at 20 points per week. Sample orders and orders that were returned, refunded, cancelled or defective do not count.
  • Quizzes: passing the policy quiz tied to a violation earns points. The amount depends on the quiz.

How points expire

Points earned or deducted reset 180 days after the date they were earned or deducted. Points restored through a successful appeal or correction follow different rules. In practice, one serious violation can hang over a shop for six months, which is why prevention matters more than recovery.

The eight violation categories

TikTok’s AHR policy groups deductions into eight categories. The number of points deducted depends on the severity and frequency of each violation; TikTok does not publish a fixed point table.

Category Examples How to prevent it
Product compliance Listing prohibited products Check the prohibited and restricted product policies before sourcing, not after
Product safety Recalled products, safety issues Monitor recalls in your category; keep safety and testing documents on file
Listing quality Wrong category, incomplete information Use the correct category and fill every required attribute accurately
Intellectual property Trademark or copyright infringement, counterfeits, missing brand authorization Sell only what you own or are authorized to sell; keep authorization letters current
Fair trading Fraudulent orders, suspicious transactions Never place or arrange orders to inflate sales or reviews
Fulfillment and after sale Late dispatch, invalid tracking, cancellations Staff fulfillment for peak days; keep stock buffers
Account management Onboarding, account finance, dormancy issues Keep documents and banking current; respond to verification requests
Customer reviews Review manipulation Ask for reviews only through permitted channels

The fulfillment metrics behind most penalties

For many shops, the biggest ongoing risk is not a dramatic policy breach. It is slow shipping on a busy week. TikTok’s US Fulfillment Policy, last updated September 2026, sets these standards:

Metric Standard Notes
Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) 95% or higher Seller Shipping only; TikTok Shipping and FBT orders are not evaluated
Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) 4% or less recommended Enforcement may apply above 10%; FBT orders are exempt
On Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) 80% or higher Calculated weekly for nonFBT orders
Seller Fault Cancellation Rate (SFCR) 2.5% or less Creator sample orders excluded

The underlying clock is tight. Regular orders must be marked In Transit within 2 business days, orders with no tracking can be auto cancelled after 5 business days, and delivery is due within 6 business days. Out of stock cancellations, pricing errors and missing tracking all count as seller fault cancellations.

Pro tip:Fulfilled by TikTok orders are exempt from late dispatch, valid tracking and on time delivery evaluation. Moving your fastest selling products into FBT removes the metrics most likely to slip during a viral spike.

Common violations that catch sellers out

Most account health problems come from a short list of habits. These are the ones to train your team on first.

  • Listing restricted categories without qualification. Beauty and personal care, shelf stable food and medical devices require qualification; supplements and over the counter medications are invite only.
  • Selling brands without authorization. Missing brand authorization is an intellectual property violation, even for genuine products.
  • Unsupported claims. Health, weight loss and medical style claims in titles, descriptions or creator videos are a frequent trigger. Brief creators on what they can and cannot say.
  • Package inserts asking for reviews. TikTok’s logistics guide lists marketing or review solicitation materials in packages as prohibited.
  • Fulfilling from personal retail accounts. Buying from another retailer and shipping directly to your buyer is prohibited, as is shipping false tracking or manipulating order statuses.
  • Overselling during a spike. Out of stock cancellations count toward the 2.5% limit. Keep inventory buffers and sync settings tight.
  • Weekend dispatch gaps. Orders keep arriving on Friday night. If nobody ships on Monday, the 2 business day clock is already running.

Penalties beyond points

AHR deductions are not the only consequence. Depending on the violation, TikTok’s policies list actions such as:

  • Removing listings or reducing the visibility of your shop or products
  • Order volume limits, up to suspending new orders
  • Extended settlement periods, which slow your payouts
  • Restricting Seller Shipping privileges for tracking violations
  • Shipping limitations lasting 90 to 365 days, and balance withholding for 45, 90 or 365 days, or permanently for deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Temporary suspension or permanent deactivation
  • Issuing refunds to customers

Repeat violations escalate. TikTok’s own example is a shop that breaks the prohibited products policy four times: a warning for the first, then increasing point deductions from the second onward.

What to do when you receive a violation

Every violation is sent to your email and Seller Center inbox, and serious cases use additional channels. TikTok recommends checking both once a day. When a notice arrives:

  1. Open the ticket from the notification or the Violation Records page in Seller Center.
  2. Check the status. “Pending” means enforcement has not taken effect yet; “Enforcement action taken” means it has.
  3. Read the violation reason and details, including any product ID named.
  4. Choose your next step: appeal, correct or take a quiz, as offered on the ticket.
  5. Act before the timer runs out. TikTok warns that once the deadline passes, you lose the chance to appeal, correct or take the quiz.

A pending violation that you successfully correct or appeal before the deadline is cancelled. That is the cheapest outcome available, and it depends entirely on speed.

How to appeal a TikTok Shop violation

Deadlines and limits

  • First appeal: within 30 calendar days of the violation notification
  • Second appeal: within 15 calendar days of the first appeal’s rejection
  • Maximum: 2 appeals per case
  • Pending enforcement: where enforcement is not yet immediate, the appeal window can be as short as 12 to 72 hours

Fulfillment metric appeals only succeed in specific scenarios. For tracking violations, TikTok accepts two: the customer confirmed receipt, or a logistics integration error caused the violation. Late dispatch, on time delivery and cancellation appeals have their own accepted scenarios, such as carrier disruptions or Seller Center system errors.

Build an appeal that gets read

TikTok’s Violation and Appeal Guide describes two kinds of appeal letter:

  • The decision was wrong: state that the judgment was incorrect, list each piece of evidence, and avoid emotional language.
  • The decision was right: acknowledge it and submit a rectification plan with the root cause, a short term fix and a long term prevention plan.

A simple structure that works for both:

  1. Shop name, violation ID and date of notice
  2. One sentence summary of your position
  3. Facts, in order, with each supported by a named attachment
  4. Root cause, if the violation was valid
  5. What you changed immediately
  6. What you changed permanently, such as a new process, check or owner

Evidence must be clear, original and complete. For account level reviews, TikTok may ask for your business license and ID, proof of warehouse, and purchase invoices that match your best selling products, plus a video of you holding your license and ID. Incomplete, altered or low quality documents are rejected automatically.

If both appeals fail

Escalation is only available after both appeals are rejected. Sellers with an assigned account manager contact them; others use the US Seller Growth Community link in TikTok’s guide. Escalations need screenshots plus a completed appeal letter using TikTok’s template, and screenshots alone are not accepted.

Peak season: where healthy shops slip

Sales events and holidays are when fulfillment metrics break. Order volume jumps, carriers slow down and inventory runs short at the same moment. A few preparations make the difference:

  • Check your score early. Confirm your AHR sits comfortably above 150 several weeks before a major campaign, since milestone blocks stop mega campaign enrollment.
  • Use the tools TikTok provides. The Fulfillment Policy notes that Order Handling Capacity and handling time settings for made to order, backorder and custom items add a business day to the dispatch window. TikTok may also extend SLAs for specific holidays, with 7 days’ notice in Seller Center.
  • Staff for the spike. Plan packing capacity for your forecast peak, not your average day, and schedule coverage for the Monday after a busy weekend.
  • Protect stock. Raise inventory buffers on hero products so a viral video does not turn into a wave of out of stock cancellations.
  • Move fast sellers into FBT. FBT orders are exempt from the dispatch, tracking and on time delivery metrics that usually slip first.

A note for new shops in probation

New shops face extra scrutiny. TikTok’s probation program caps Beginner shops at 50 orders a day, and order volume limits can be temporarily reduced during routine account, compliance or security reviews. TikTok states that a reduced limit during a review does not necessarily mean a violation occurred. Keep fulfilling genuine orders on time and avoiding cancellations; that is what moves a shop through the tiers.

Order volume also helps your score directly. At 4 points per 200 finished orders, a shop that completes 1,000 eligible orders in the 180 day window earns 20 points from orders, before quizzes. That cushion matters if a single violation later costs points.

Do not forget creator account health

Your bound TikTok accounts have their own health record. Seller Center’s TikTok Account Health page shows violations for your official and marketing accounts over the past 90 days, and you can appeal from there too. Content violations on those accounts can limit the reach and selling permissions your shop depends on.

An account health routine that prevents most problems

  • Daily: check email and the Seller Center inbox; ship every order within 2 business days; answer buyer messages and after sales requests.
  • Weekly: review AHR, warning records and the four fulfillment metrics; review creator videos for claims; reconcile stock levels across channels.
  • Before listing: confirm category qualification, brand authorization and accurate attributes for every product.
  • Before campaigns: confirm AHR is comfortably above 150 and inventory covers expected demand.
  • After any violation: take the quiz where offered, fix the root cause, and document what changed.

Account health problems often start at registration and integration. If you are still setting up, read our guides to TikTok Shop seller requirements and how to connect Shopify to TikTok Shop without creating sync errors that lead to cancellations.

Protect the account, protect the business

A healthy TikTok Shop is not the result of one good appeal. It comes from dull, consistent habits: shipping on time, listing carefully, briefing creators well and reading every notice the day it arrives. If you would like a team to own those habits for you, our TikTok Shop management service includes daily account health monitoring, fulfillment oversight and appeal handling. Frequently asked questions

What is a good Account Health Rating on TikTok Shop?

Every seller starts at 200 points, which is the bottom of the green, healthy zone. TikTok advises keeping your AHR above 150 points to avoid milestone penalties such as blocked listings and mega campaign enrollment. Points from order volume and passed quizzes can raise the score over time.

How long do violations stay on TikTok Shop?

Under the Account Health Rating, points earned or deducted reset 180 days after the date they were earned or deducted. Points restored through a successful appeal or correction follow different rules. Some enforcement records, such as tracking violations, stay on record for 90 days if not successfully appealed.

Can a deactivated TikTok Shop be reinstated?

TikTok’s AHR policy says an account at 0 points may be permanently deactivated and that reactivation is at TikTok Shop’s sole discretion. If you believe a deactivation was wrong, appeal within the window shown on the notice with clear, original evidence, and escalate only after both appeals are rejected.

How many times can I appeal a TikTok Shop violation?

TikTok allows two appeals per case: the first within 30 calendar days of the notification, and a second within 15 calendar days of the first appeal’s rejection. Some pending enforcements have much shorter windows of 12 to 72 hours, so act as soon as a notice arrives.

Does late shipping affect TikTok Shop account health?

Yes. Late dispatch, invalid tracking, late delivery and seller fault cancellations are fulfillment violations that can deduct AHR points and trigger other penalties. Regular orders must be marked In Transit within 2 business days, and TikTok recommends a late dispatch rate of 4% or less.
